After a delayed start due to no wind, the wind picked up and the race got started. The wind built from 4 knots at the start to 15 by the finish.
Jessie Fitzgerald on Gusto from Minisceongo won the spinnaker division, and Eric Baumes on Hee Soo came in second. Guy May on Freya from Shattamuc won the non-spinnaker division, and Warren Frerichs on Journey came in second.
Don’t ever think that seconds don’t count in racing. In the non-spinnaker division, after five hours of racing, four of the six boats finished within five minutes on corrected time. Two boats, Ripple Effect and Pentimento, finished within one second of each other. That is a .006% difference in time. That is close racing.
