Materials

Keel Iron Rudder Standard
Modifications:
Kick-up rudder: The rudder was cut in half and now there are two 12” x 24” .120” thickness Type 304 Stainless Steel U-shaped Plates that weigh about 10 pounds each, that “sandwich” the rudder and allow it to rotate up on a 5/8” stainless steel bolt. The u-shape plates do not allow for smooth water flow to pass the rudder. There is also a rope which connects to the bottom of the rudder and holds it in the down position.
